Elise Craig

Elise Craig

Elise Craig is a central Texas-based, self-taught fluid artist, working primarily with alcohol inks and metallic pigments.  She developed a love for inks in 2019 during her work as an art educator.  Elise has a degree in English literature, and has taught at the middle school level for 23 years, the last nine of those being in the field of visual art.  She has recently been exploring her own personal creative expression, and is known for using vibrant color and striking gold metallics throughout her work in order to create dynamic abstract expressionism pieces. She is a commissioned artist, as well as a featured artist at The Local in New Braunfels, Texas, and has recently exhibited work in M.A.D.S Art Gallery in Milan and in the 2021 Palermo Biennale, and has artwork published in the September-October Art International Contemporary Magazine. Elise is inspired by organic patterns, layers found in earth strata, landscapes, rocks and minerals, concentric circles, the cosmos, and anything iridescent, fluorescent, phosphorescent, shimmery, or slightly magical. She currently divides her time among her family, teaching, learning, seeking out genuine human connection, traveling whenever possible, and creating in any format that she is able.
