Sarah Heinbaugh

I’m Sarah! I am a painter and native Texan living and working out of Canyon Lake. 

I can’t remember discovering art because it’s always ‘been there’ for me, but I do remember falling in love with painting in my 10th grade art class. That love has only grown over the last twenty plus years, and I am so inspired by life and also by seeing other artists work. I often feel overwhelmed by the beauty in art, and how it can stir up emotions and memories. It’s absolutely magic, and I love it!

I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2006 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art. While in school, we were taught to use oil paint. Oil paint is so wonderful and I still use it, but I made the switch to acrylic while painting inside my house to cut down on the drying time and the chemicals around my small children. I do use both oil and acrylic, but I am able to quickly complete layers with acrylic paint- which I really like!

 My goal with my artwork is to evoke happiness. It’s a truly joyful experience to create a painting, and I want to bring my viewers along with me in that experience. I love painting portraits, objects, houses, and landscapes in vivid, complex colors, and interesting lighting. I hope you enjoy my work, and I thank you for being here!
